Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Technical Specialist to diagnose and execute complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site.

You will serve as the primary customer support contact, performing troubleshooting and repairs in the field, while ensuring compliance with safety and documentation standards. The role involves preventative maintenance, on-site diagnostics, and collaboration with product specialists.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service or technician roles preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt attention to customer needs.
• Applies specialized tools and follows procedures to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site.
• Performs preventative maintenance on power generation products in the field.
• Escalates unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor.
• Coaches technicians and apprentices and may review repair plans and parts lists.
• Completes service documentation and timesheets in business systems.
• Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and operation.
• Adheres to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reports issues to management.
• Communicates effectively with diverse audiences and focuses on customer needs.
• Develops talent and manages complex information to solve problems.
