Job summary

AEG seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, patient flow, and coordination across the care team. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and enter demographics in the EMR, ensuring accurate chart preparation before visits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors; primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, manage emails and digital communications.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules; handle cancellations and reschedules.
• Send appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Explain coverage, benefits, and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation before visits.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; assist with billing and submissions.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and provider schedules; adjust as needed for efficiency.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support retention through recalls and annual/medically necessary visits.
• Maintain an organized, clean front office; perform other duties as assigned.
