The role requires collecting and verifying demographic, financial, and insurance information; obtaining authorizations and referrals; and serving as a lead resource for junior staff while maintaining precise documentation and upholding University policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for financial clearance of scheduled patient accounts.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians’ offices to obtain missing insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and communicate results to patients and physicians.
• Collaborate with scheduling to identify add-on patients and obtain authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals.
• Inform patients of anticipated liabilities and collect funds.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the system of record and serve as a lead resource for staff.
