Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Field Service Technician to conduct on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure uptime, diagnose defects, and communicate with customers during site visits.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently in the field while traveling up to 30% of the time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred. Equivalent field service experience considered.
• Working knowledge of electrical and electromechanical systems; able to diagnose faults at customer sites.
• Basic mechanical skills to disassemble, repair, and reassemble components safely.
• Experience in packaging automation systems is preferred.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations.
• Install, repair, and preventive maintenance; diagnose mechanical, electrical, and minor automation issues.
• Document service actions, complete work orders, and maintain service records.
• Perform software upgrades on WAT units and other equipment when required.
• Travel frequently, averaging 30% of the work week, with good driving record.
