Prime Ortho LLC in Tysons, Virginia is seeking a Surgical Scheduler & Authorization Specialist to support four physicians and manage scheduling and authorization for surgical procedures and interventional pain injections.

This full-time, on-site role requires coordinating cases from scheduling through preauthorization, communicating with patients and insurers, and ensuring documentation is complete. The ideal candidate will have orthopedic scheduling experience and strong negotiation with payers.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in surgical scheduling, preferably in orthopedics or spine.
• Proven ability to obtain prior authorizations for procedures.
• Experience handling insurance denials and coordinating peer-to-peer reviews.
• Ability to prioritize cases, meet deadlines, and follow up on authorizations.
• Excellent communication with insurers, physicians, patients, and facilities.
• Attention to detail and HIPAA-compliant practices.
• Proficient with EMR and scheduling systems.
• On-site work five days per week at the Tysons office.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage surgical and procedure scheduling for four physicians.
• Coordinate surgical cases, outpatient procedures, and interventional injections with patients, physicians, facilities, and staff.
• Ensure procedure details and documentation are complete.
• Communicate preoperative instructions and scheduling updates to patients.
• Identify scheduling conflicts and delays and resolve them.
• Maintain organized records from scheduling through completion.
