Job summary

Upgrade Resources in Houston, TX seeks a skilled Medium Voltage Technician to install, troubleshoot, and service MV distribution (5kV–25kV) in diverse industrial environments. This on-site, field role reports to the site supervisor and may supervise a small crew on larger jobs.

You will handle motor controls, PLC troubleshooting, UPS and generator work, and ensure safe, clean job sites with PPE. A Texas Master or Journeyman license is required; strong safety, communication, and customer-service

Qualifications

• Texas Master or Journeyman Electrician license required.
• Hands-on MV installation, termination, and testing experience.
• Strong industrial troubleshooting across power distribution, motor controls, and automation.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Able to pass a drug screen and a 10-year national background check.
• Able to work 8 to 10 hour days plus overtime and night shifts as required, in all weather conditions.
• Able to routinely lift more than 50 pounds; physical work is a major portion of the job.
• Texas CDL is a plus; thermographer and MV fiber/Cat5/Cat6 experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform MV installations, terminations, and HiPot testing.
• Troubleshoot a wide range of industrial electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and install motor control systems.
• Install and service UPS systems in manufacturing settings.
• Install and connect standby generator systems.
• Troubleshoot and program PLCs.
• Manage a small crew on larger service and installation jobs.
• Provide professional, responsive customer service on site.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite with PPE.
• Complete accurate work orders, time, and material documentation for each job.
