Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in field conditions. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, road test to verify repairs, and document findings through the TRAIT app on an iOS device.

The role requires HS diploma or GED with relevant experience and an ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with 3 years related field experience (or 5 years alternative).
• Own a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Able to pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must be 21+ years old due to interstate regulations.
• Must have valid driver's license and state residency.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-truck fleets in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
• Document work on RO using TRAIT app and iOS device.
• Obtain parts and manage service truck inventory.
• Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety regulations.
