Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our customers by maintaining fleets and handling on-site service calls at client locations. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and equipment, ensuring safety and uptime.

With a strong five-year background, you will work with top brands and use diagnostic equipment, read job orders, and communicate effectively with customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep stock.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily duties.
• Maintain after-hours availability and an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools for diesel truck maintenance.
• Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, plan procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace components such as injectors, pistons, liners, etc.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation on company computer system.
• Check safety guards and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork accurately in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customer/service writer of repairs within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
