Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our customers with on-site service calls and fleet maintenance. Tenured and certified technicians will diagnose, repair, and service heavy-duty trucks at client locations, ensuring safety and uptime across our nationwide network.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inventory control on service trucks, and clear documentation in our systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Peterbilt/International/Ford/Hino/Isuzu/Cummins/ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools needed for diesel truck work.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle issues; plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and tech info to perform repairs.
• Diagnose and replace components (injectors, pistons, bearings, etc.).
• Perform diagnostic/documentation in the company system.
• Inspect safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and test drive to verify repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork accurately in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and build positive relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
