Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our fleet maintenance for clients at their locations. You will diagnose, repair, and service heavy-duty trucks and equipment on-site, ensuring fast, reliable responses to keep customers on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Preferred but not required: current CDL.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain inventory of tools and reading/testing equipment for diesel engine trucks.
• Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Daignose and replace components such as injectors, pistons, bearings, brakes, and transmissions.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation tasks on the company computer system.
• Inspect guards and safety devices, make adjustments as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document and submit paperwork in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
