Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons is seeking a Standby Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team in Columbia, SC. This role requires living in a company-provided apartment and responding to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis, ensuring timely work order completion and resident satisfaction.

You will handle plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and system troubleshooting tasks while maintaining safety, inventory, and professional communication with residents.

Qualifications

• EPA certification required; if not held, must obtain within 120 days via company-paid training
• OSHA/state-specific safety guidelines knowledge preferred
• HVAC experience preferred; CPO certification and pool maintenance skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain apartment community operations and day-to-day upkeep
• Evaluate and prioritize work orders per quality standards
• Perform plumbing tasks including pipe fittings, installs, and repairs
• Troubleshoot HVAC, water heater, boiler, and appliance issues
• Deliver carpentry work including doors, drywall and caulking
• Perform electrical repairs on switches, outlets, and lighting
• Repair tile and tub surrounds
• Monitor inventory and restock parts
• Respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis
