Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons is seeking a Standby Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team at Southport Apartments in Belleville, MI. This role requires living on-site in a company-provided apartment and responding to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis.

You will perform maintenance across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs while upholding safety standards and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-family property maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance safety guidelines and OSHA regulations preferred.
• EPA certification required or must be obtained within 120 days of start via company-paid training.
• HVAC experience strongly preferred; CPO certification and pool maintenance skills preferred.
• Ability to shovel snow and spread salt during winter months; professional appearance and clear communication.
• Basic computer skills and comfort learning software and apps.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall apartment community operations and respond to work orders.
• Prioritize and resolve maintenance requests according to quality standards.
• Perform plumbing tasks, electrical repairs, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, furnaces, water heaters, and boilers.
• Monitor inventory of commonly used parts and ensure stock levels.
• Live on-site in company-provided apartment and respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis.
• Communicate effectively with residents and co-workers.
