Job summary

Alpha School is hiring early elementary guides to work full-time on-site across our campuses. You will coach six-year-olds through app-based core learning, diagnose decoding gaps, and run targeted reading sessions with small groups from launch to closing.

You will help keep students engaged through structured activities and data-driven instruction. The role emphasizes hands-on teaching, relocation support, and a focus on real student growth.

Qualifications

• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS
• Completed structured-literacy training: IMSE
• Orton-Gillingham or similar training
• Master's in reading or literacy or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required

Responsibilities

• Get every K-3 student to daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Lead app-based core learning and targeted reading sessions with small groups.
• Maintain daily routines from morning launch to closing.
• Drive students toward weekly app goals using school currency and gamification.
• Support reading platforms and diagnostic assessments to monitor progress.
