Job summary

Alpha School is hiring guides to lead K–3 reading instruction using app-based core learning. You will diagnose reading gaps, design targeted sequences, and support students throughout the school day, from morning launch to closing.

The role emphasizes structured-literacy coaching, 70/30 split between general guidance and targeted sessions, and relocation support for campus placement. A six-figure annual package is offered with benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4–9: teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching reading in grades K–3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy.

Responsibilities

• Guiding students through app-based core learning: spotting who is stuck, asking the question that unblocks them, and keeping daily goals.
• Running targeted structured-literacy sessions with two to four students and diagnosing gaps.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities for six-year-olds.
• Driving students to weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions.
