Job summary

Alpha School is seeking a Student Success Coach to guide K–3 students through app-based core learning and targeted literacy sessions. You will diagnose decoding gaps, design short sequences, and ensure transfer to daily goals while staying with students through lunch and recess.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years with children, experience coaching reading in K–3, and structured-literacy training or a related master’s. On-site availability and relocation support are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years directly working with children ages 4–9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or youth programs.
• At least 2 years coaching reading for grades K-3 within last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (e.g., LETRS, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, SIPPS) or master's in reading.
• Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certificate not required.

Responsibilities

• Get K-3 students to daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Lead short structured-literacy sessions with 2–4 students using a diagnostic approach.
• Guide students through app-based learning, workshops, and campus routines.
• Support students from launch to closing with data-backed decisions.
