Alpha School seeks a Youth Development Coach to guide K–3 students through app-based core reading learning on-site. You’ll diagnose decoding gaps, design short instructional sequences, and monitor progress with running records and probes.

You will stay with students through daily routines, lunch, and dismissal, using a plan-based approach to address frustration and close gaps. The role emphasizes hands-on coaching and measurable improvement.

Competenze

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in relevant settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (e.g., LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS) or a master’s in reading/literacy.
• Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certificate not required.

Mansioni

• Coaching K–3 students through app-based core learning, identifying gaps, and guiding daily goals.
• Lead short structured-literacy sessions for small groups (2–4 students) with targeted sequences.
• Diagnose decoding gaps from running records and fluency probes; ensure transfer of learning.
• Conduct morning launches, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities to keep students engaged.
• Maintain presence with students through lunch, recess, and closing to address frustration with a plan.
