Job summary

Smithville is seeking a Help Desk Technician to support on-site employees with hardware, software, and security needs. You will manage end-user computing from setup to decommissioning and collaborate with vendors on projects. Travel to other facilities is required a few times per week.

The role emphasizes prioritizing requests, implementing software updates, planning equipment purchases, and maintaining secure systems in a climate-controlled office environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in hardware installation, troubleshooting, and licensing preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Windows OS and AD.
• Familiarity with basic network infrastructure and OSI model.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct user support for hardware/software issues.
• Deliver user education on tools and technologies.
• Manage workstation image creation and maintenance.
• Oversee upgrades, deployments, and license management.
• Conduct security research and monitor new releases.
• Support additional initiatives as assigned.
