Job summary

SpiderRock is seeking an IT Support Technician to perform basic IT maintenance and support from our Chicago office. You will manage on-site tasks, assist with user accounts, passwords, and respond to IT requests through our ticketing system, providing timely remote and on-site support to the team.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate or Bachelor degree in IT, experience with Windows and Mac OSX, strong communication skills, and a collaborative, fast-paced mindset.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor degree in Information Technology related field of study with a network engineering focus, or related field or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Microsoft operating systems, including installation and configuration
• Experience with computer and peripheral hardware servicing and basic repairs
• Knowledge of standard office software packages
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Flexibility regarding working hours; overtime paid
• Knowledge of financial markets a plus
• Strong work ethic
• Professional, motivated attitude

Responsibilities

• Monitor the ticketing system and completing basic support requests.
• Escalate support requests to IT leadership when they cannot be completed on-site.
• Create user accounts, manage permissions and passwords.
• Provide remote-hands support and respond to any queries in a timely manner.
• Support Slack, e-mail or telephone support to our SpiderRock team.
• Assist the in-house IT team with basic requests (printer toner, cables, setting up projects, moving computers).
• Maintain high standards in team communications and response times.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Windows and Mac OSX.
• Engage in training opportunities to further develop skills in desktop support, networking, and operating systems.
• Complete any other tasks as requested by the IT Director or senior staff member.
