Axiom Technologies is seeking a capable Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-site IT support for enterprise clients in the Latham, NY area. This contract-based, on-demand role requires hands-on assistance with desktops, laptops, and peripherals and will be dispatched as support is needed.

The position emphasizes responsive service delivery, adherence to client IT policies, and the ability to work independently at client sites with no guaranteed hours.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
• Experience in hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
• Basic understanding of networking (LAN, switches, routers).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in on-site support environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
• Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
• Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
• Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
• Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.
