Axiom Technologies in Amherst, NY is seeking a capable Desktop Support Engineer for on-site, contract-based work. The role provides on-demand IT support to end users within the client environment with no guaranteed hours and immediate start.

Work will occur on-site at client locations, and assignments will be dispatched by the Service Delivery Team. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues with Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals; configuring hardware and software; and

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
Experience with hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
Basic networking knowledge (LAN, switches, routers).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently in on-site support environments.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.
