Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a proactive Desktop Support Technician to provide advanced on-site technical consultation and solutions across manufacturing, engineering, and business teams.

This role partners with stakeholders to evaluate operational technology needs, assess risks, and recommend IT solutions that support system uptime, data integrity, and business resiliency in a complex industrial environment.

Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Solid knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs) and cybersecurity fundamentals.
Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow), remote management tools, and monitoring software.
Familiarity with manufacturing technologies, including ERP, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), SCADA, and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

Work with users to understand their technology needs and determine tools required.
Identify and recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions for business operations.
Evaluate technology risks and identify solutions to reduce disruption and improve reliability.
Provide guidance to manufacturing, engineering, and other business teams on technology decisions.
Review existing technology and propose improvements, standards, and long-term solutions.
