Job summary

R-2 Contractors, a civil and underground construction leader, seeks an Information Technology Senior Technician to support daily operations and ensure stability across all locations. This on-site role in Prineville, OR handles hardware, software tickets, and routine IT tasks while collaborating with an MSP.

The position requires 5+ years in IT support, Windows 11, M365, and strong documentation skills. Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with opportunities to travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT help desk, tech support, or field technician.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary on-site help desk responder for hardware, software, and peripherals for office and remote users.
• Serve as escalation point for complex issues before involving senior IT leadership.
• Coordinate with MSP daily to track cases and align with internal timelines.
• Create technical documentation for workstation provisioning, device config, and onboarding.
• Write foundational guides to help employees use company systems and reduce recurring tickets.
• Provide hands-on training on deployed systems to keep pace with updates.
• Manage lifecycle of IT hardware, asset tagging, and data accuracy in internal databases.
• Coordinate packing, tracking, and shipping of company hardware to offices and field personnel.
• Audit IT asset records and enforce tagging/tracking standards across locations.
• Maintain organized IT storage, stage retired equipment for disposal, and perform upgrades.
• Perform data entry and auditing in internal systems for users, licenses, and assets.
• Configure and deploy workstations, tablets, and phones to meet security/software standards.
• Travel to job sites to install equipment and provide on-site support as needed.
