Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an IT Support Technician in Portland, OR to provide onsite and remote technical support. You will diagnose issues across hardware, software, and networking, repair components, and maintain system health while documenting every interaction.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, hands-on hardware repair, and experience with Windows OS, security tools, and office productivity suites. Occasional travel within the Portland area may be required.

Qualifications

Hands-on hardware repair and assembly experience.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS installation, recovery, setup and updates.
Familiarity with antivirus, security, and firewall technologies.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, file sharing, and server applications.

Responsibilities

Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues involving workstations, mobile devices, operating systems, software, hardware, peripherals, and entry-level server support.
Provide customer support onsite and remotely using connection software, with thorough documentation and follow-up.
Prioritize and resolve tickets following SOPs and KB articles to meet KPI goals.
Troubleshoot a range of issues including desktop problems, VPN connectivity, hardware failures, and basic server functions.
Perform hardware repair, maintenance, and security tasks from cleaning to diagnostics.
Install, configure, and repair software, including operating systems, antivirus, and productivity suites.
Back up data and perform system restores as needed.
Test solutions for accuracy and document work; provide recommendations for system health.
