Design West Technologies Inc. in Tustin, CA seeks an IT Help Desk Specialist to provide frontline technical support for a Windows-based environment.

You will work alongside the Systems Administrator and Cybersecurity teams to assist employees with devices, accounts, printers, and applications in a regulated defense context. The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting, clear communication, and meticulous documentation, with on-site work and occasional after-hours support to maintain security

Qualifications

Two or more years of IT support or help desk experience.
Experience supporting Windows 11 in a business setting.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and endpoint-management tools.
Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, user accounts, and basic network connectivity.
Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Security Clearance.
Ability to work independently and as part of an IT/cybersecurity team.
On-site work requirement with on-call/after-hours support when needed.
Ability to lift, carry, and install equipment up to 40 pounds.
Practical experience can substitute formal education.

Responsibilities

Provide in-person technical support for Windows 11 desktops, laptops, software, printers, peripherals, and other equipment.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, authentication, printing, and access issues.
Configure, deploy, replace, move, and maintain desktop computers, monitors, printers, and related hardware.
Create, modify, and disable employee accounts during onboarding, role changes, and offboarding.
Manage user access through Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 GCC High, and Microsoft Intune.
Assist users with password resets, multifactor authentication, account lockouts, email, Office apps, and shared resources.
Set up and manage printer accounts, access, drivers, queues, and configurations.
Maintain records of assigned computers, software, peripherals, and IT assets.
Follow cybersecurity, access-control, change-management, and approval procedures.
Assist with workstation patching, endpoint management, software deployments, audits, and IT projects.
Escalate advanced issues to the appropriate team member.
Participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours/weekend support.
