Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Project Manager for its HVAC division to lead on-site project execution from planning through commissioning. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to deliver on time, on budget, and in compliance with contract requirements.

You will drive planning, scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, risk mitigation, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle, while maintaining strong customer relationships and safe,

Qualifications

• Associate degree with at least four years of experience in HVAC/Building Automation projects.
• Bachelor’s degree with experience in project management and field operations leadership.
• Hands-on design, startup, commissioning, and turnover of digital HVAC or BAS systems.
• Strong HVAC controls knowledge and understanding of BAS concepts.
• Experience in project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, subcontractor management, and field execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC controls projects through hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution with subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and admin support.
• Manage project financials including costs, billings, collections, cash flow, and gross margin.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and develop long-term relationships.
• Review scope, directives, and schedule changes; pursue change orders when needed.
• Coordinate procurement: materials, vendor pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Oversee system checkout, commissioning of controllers and equipment, and final validation.
