Job summary

UIC Arctic Response Services, LLC seeks an On-Site Help Desk Technician I to provide in-person, phone, and email support in Anchorage, AK. The role focuses on resolving basic computer problems, guiding end-users, and maintaining hardware and software.

A customer-centric approach and clear communication are essential. The position requires an Associate’s degree (MIS/CS or related) with potential degree in progress, plus preferred A+ or Network+ certificates.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in MIS/CS or related field; degree may be in-progress.
• Prefer A+ or Network+ certificates; pursuing these qualifications may be in progress.
• Background check required; US citizenship may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist/guide personnel with basic computer/network support: answer inquiries, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems.
• Evaluate, install and/or repair computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
• Log, monitor and track IT Help Desk requests using ticketing systems; follow up on tasks.
• Maintain inventory of computer/software supplies and order as needed.
• Set up equipment for employee use and ensure proper installation of cables, OS, or software.
• Provide scheduled after-hours on-call support for customers.
• Attend IT workshops and webinars for ongoing education.
