Job summary

Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a non-represented IT Help Desk Technician to handle incidents and service requests at City Hall in Anchorage. The role requires providing technical guidance, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and supporting a mobile workforce in a collaborative team environment.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years of MIS experience or an associate/bachelor degree in CS with related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience working with clients to resolve computer problems and/or configuring hardware, software, and networks.
• Knowledge of hardware, software, and network configurations and problem-solving approaches.

Responsibilities

• Process IT incidents and service requests via phone, email, web, or in person.
• Triages requests and either resolves at the Service Desk or escalates to another IT resource.
• Provide technical guidance and informal training to customers.
• Troubleshoot and restore service by identifying faults and diagnosing issues.
• Configure, install, monitor, and maintain desktop software and hardware; support mobile workforce.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
