Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking a Porter/Groundskeeper responsible for daily grounds care, maintenance of landscaping tools, and notifying supervisors of issues. You will help keep exterior and common areas clean, assist with make-readies, and support the maintenance team as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of full-time related experience.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively interact with team members, residents, vendors, and other stakeholders. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Willingness to perform all required tasks.
• Demonstrate knowledge of work safety habits.
• Ability to professionally represent the company.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to work on call (as necessary and/or when an emergency arises) and extended hours (including after-hours and weekends).
• Attention to detail - meticulous.
• Ability to organize & prioritize work.
• Social skills to interact with residents.
• Self-motivated; ability to work individually and on a team.
• Any other projects as directed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the appearance of all property and common areas meets Valiant Residential standards.
• Assist the team with community functions and events.
• Pick up litter daily and sweep/blow breezeways.
• Clean areas around dumpsters and make-readies.
• Assist with pool maintenance and water plants.
• Maintain sprinkler systems and landscape beds.
• Mow, trim, reseed, and replant lawns as needed.
• Stake and prune trees and shrubs; weed beds.
• Make drainage corrections and replace light bulbs as needed.
• Distribute notices and assist with maintenance tasks as directed.
