Job summary

Johnson Controls in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Fire Project Specialist to lead on-site project delivery for assigned customers and projects. You will manage installation coordination, scheduling, and compliance with contract requirements and Johnson Controls standards.

You will be responsible for project financials, change orders, and cross‑functional communication with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Validation, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in construction, low voltage, mechanical, electronics, or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Writer, Visio, and Windows.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
• Commitment to safe work practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and complete projects, including installation coordination and closeout.
• Manage overall project financials: costs, billings, collections, and gross margin.
• Pursue change orders and evaluate scope changes and scheduling revisions.
• Coordinate communication with customer representatives across QA, Eng, Validation, and related departments.
• Support procurement, delivery scheduling, and material procurement.
• Review bids from vendors and oversee subcontractor payments.
• Oversee jobsite execution and ensure installation aligns with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain as-built documentation, commissioning records, manuals, and warranty documentation.
• Communicate project status, risks, and forecast updates to the Project Lead and management.
• Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with contractors and clients.
