Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Manager to lead on-site Fire Install Projects in Seattle. You will drive profitable execution, collaborate with Sales and Operations, and develop plans to control scope, timing, and costs.

Lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and billing, ensure safety and compliance, and pursue change orders when needed. Travel may be required based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture preferred; an Associate degree with equivalent work-related experience and/or five years of direct field experience in Building Construction required.
• Ability to verbally and non-verbally communicate technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Travel may be required based on project assignment and needs.
• Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems (MS Project, MS Office).
• PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site leadership for execution teams (Engineers, Designers, Technicians, Coordinators, Estimators, Subcontractors).
• Develop a Project Execution Plan (WBS, Org Chart, Safety Plan, Schedules).
• Evaluate scope changes and pursue change orders; prepare cost estimates and proposals.
• Manage project-related accounts payable, billing, and collections; ensure timely client invoicing.
• Review contracts to ensure work meets customer satisfaction and JCI standards.
• Analyze financials and schedules; communicate progress to management.
• Manage risks and establish recovery plans; resolve disputes with limited escalation.
• Prepare subcontracts and ensure document controls per contract requirements.
• Oversee construction to ensure compliance with specs and codes.
• Coordinate resource allocation with management; support engineering and commissioning.
