Job summary

Johnson Controls in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Fire Project Specialist to lead on-site project delivery for assigned customers and projects. You will manage installation coordination, ensure compliance with contract requirements, codes, and Johnson Controls standards, and coordinate across stakeholders.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years in construction or related fields, plus strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in construction, low voltage, mechanical, electronics, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to convey technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Strong PC skills in MS Office; proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with project/work site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and complete assigned projects, including installation coordination and project closeout.
• Manage project financial results: costs, billings, collections, and gross margin.
• Pursue change orders and evaluate impact of scope changes and scheduling revisions.
• Coordinate communication with customer representatives across QA, Engineering, Validation, and related departments.
• Support procurement of project materials and vendor bid evaluations.
• Oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes.
• Coordinate jobsite execution ensuring alignment with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.
• Assist with controller loading, device verification, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation.
• Prepare accurate as-built documentation, commissioning records, and warranty documentation.
• Review validation documents and ensure accuracy before customer submittals.
• Communicate project status, risks, and forecasts to Project Lead and management.
• Develop long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ensure work safety and compliance with legal requirements.
