Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Project Specialist to serve as the on-site leader for assigned customers and projects. You will manage project delivery, coordinate across QA, engineering, validation and related departments, and ensure adherence to contract requirements and codes.

You will monitor costs, schedule, and subcontractor work, pursue change orders, and maintain accurate documentation including commissioning records and manuals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in construction, low voltage, mechanical, electronics, or related industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical material to a non-technical audience.
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and complete assigned projects on site.
• Oversee project finances, including costs, billings, and gross margin.
• Pursue change orders and assess impact of scope changes.
• Coordinate communication with customer representatives and internal teams.
• Support procurement of project materials and management of bids.
• Ensure safety and compliance with codes and Johnson Controls standards.
• Maintain accurate as-built documentation and commissioning records.
• Communicate project status and risks to leadership.
