Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Project Specialist to lead on-site projects in Plymouth, MN. You will manage the full project lifecycle from installation coordination to closeout, ensuring adherence to contract terms, codes, and company standards.

Your role involves coordinating with QA, Engineering, and Validation teams, handling procurement, and maintaining thorough as-built documentation and commissioning records.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in construction, low voltage, mechanical, electronics, or related industry.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail, customer focus, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and complete assigned projects, including installation coordination and project closeout.
• Manage overall project financial results, including costs, billings, collections, and gross margin performance.
• Pursue change orders and evaluate impact of scope changes, field directives, and scheduling revisions.
• Coordinate communication with customer representatives across QA, Engineering, Validation, and related departments.
• Support the selection, ordering, delivery scheduling, and procurement of project materials.
• Oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes as required.
• Coordinate jobsite execution and ensure installation aligns with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain accurate as-built documentation, commissioning records, manuals, and warranty documentation.
• Review validation documents and project deliverables for technical accuracy and consistency prior to customer submittal.
• Communicate project status, risks, and forecast updates to the Project Lead and management.
• Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with local, Provincial, and Federal legal requirements.
