Johnson Controls, a global leader in building technologies, seeks a Fire Project Specialist to lead on-site delivery for assigned customers and projects in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in construction, low voltage, mechanical, electronics, or related industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project).
• Working knowledge of Adobe Writer, Visio, and Windows.
• Able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and customer focus.
• Commitment to safe work practices and site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and complete assigned projects, including installation coordination and closeout.
• Manage overall project financial results, including costs, billings, collections, and gross margin performance.
• Pursue change orders and evaluate impact of scope changes, field directives, and scheduling revisions.
• Coordinate communication with customer representatives across QA, Engineering, Validation, and related departments.
• Support the selection, ordering, delivery scheduling, and procurement of project materials.
• Request and evaluate bids from vendors, suppliers, mechanical subcontractors, and electrical subcontractors.
• Oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes as required.
• Coordinate jobsite execution and ensure installation aligns with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.
• Support controller loading, device verification, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system functional validation when required.
• Prepare and maintain accurate as-built documentation, commissioning records, manuals, and warranty documentation.
• Review validation documents and project deliverables for technical accuracy and consistency prior to customer submittal.
• Communicate project status, risks, and forecast updates to the Project Lead and management.
• Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with local, Provincial, and Federal legal requirements.
