Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a Field Service Technician to address customer site issues with building components, ensuring quality and cost-effective resolutions.

The role requires troubleshooting at customer sites, recommending repairs or replacements, and supporting junior staff while following safety protocols. A GED or high school diploma and basic math/communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2 years of customer service/field service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates the condition of company building products at the customer site during construction based on customer concerns and reports findings.
• Recommends replacement or repair of defective components per guidelines; assists senior staff with complex issues.
• negotiates and approves third party repair or adjustment; inspects completed work for quality.
• May train less experienced Field Service Reps.
• Plans and paces work to meet daily/weekly/project goals.
• Follows safety procedures, attends safety meetings, and may suggest safety improvements.
• Other duties may be assigned.
