Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Compliance Field Team Leader to oversee field-based monitoring on active construction projects. The role combines hands-on field work with supervision, reporting, and client coordination across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will lead inspections for stormwater, wetlands, and regulated resources, interpret permit requirements, and mentor junior staff while traveling to various project sites. Strong communication and safety leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental permitting, multi-disciplinary natural resource assessment, environmental compliance, or environmental monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising field staff on construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting environmental compliance on large or complex construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance monitoring on active construction sites.
• Conduct inspections of stormwater, erosion control, wetlands, and habitats.
• Provide direction, mentoring, and oversee junior staff.
• Prepare inspection reports and coordinate with clients and regulators.
• Promote HSSE requirements and safety on site.
