Johnson Welded Products – a Tramec Company in Urbana, Ohio seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety and environmental programs. This hands-on role partners with HR, Operations and shift supervisors to roll out programs, train staff, and ensure compliance across multiple shifts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in EHS within manufacturing, strong OSHA/EPA knowledge, and the ability to influence across all levels. ISO 14001 experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, engage teams, and drive accountability.
• Ability to work with all level of employees across the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or REM a plus.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental reporting highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve EHS programs that reduce risk, enhance safety culture, and support business goals.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.), including reporting and documentation.
• Conduct facility assessments, hazard analyses, and root‑cause investigations, and drive corrective actions.
• Develop, deliver, and track training for employees and leaders on all aspects of EHS.
• Prepare and manage ISO 14001 documentation and environmental reporting.
• Act as site liaison for external regulatory audits, inspections, and permits.
• Guide emergency response planning and lead investigations of incidents and near misses.
• Mentor, coach, and influence plant leaders and associates to take ownership of EHS performance.
• Train new hires during orientation and conduct ongoing training thereafter.
• Be on‑site in Urbana, Ohio supporting multiple shifts.
