Job summary

Johnson Welded Products – a Trapec Company is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead safety and environmental programs at our Urbana, Ohio facility. You will partner with HR, Operations, and shift supervisors to foster a culture of safety and sustainability on all shifts and levels.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on coaching, training, and audits to improve compliance, incident prevention, and employee engagement across the site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive EHS management experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations.
• Ability to lead through influence and drive accountability.
• Excellent communication across all levels of the organization.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental reporting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve EHS programs to reduce risk and support business goals.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA/state regulations, including reporting and documentation.
• Conduct facility assessments, hazard analyses, and root-cause investigations; drive corrective actions.
• Develop, deliver, and track training for employees and leaders on EHS topics.
• Prepare and manage ISO 14001 documentation and environmental reporting.
• Act as site liaison for external regulatory audits, inspections, and permits.
• Guide emergency response planning and lead investigations of incidents and near misses.
• Mentor plant leaders to own EHS performance and culture.
• Train new hires during orientation and ongoing training.
