Job summary

Johnson Welded Products – a Tramec Company seeks a hands‑on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen safety and environmental programs. You’ll partner with HR and Operations to ensure compliance, improve training, and empower teams to work safely and sustainably across shifts.

Role emphasizes mentoring, communication, and a culture of safety built with the people doing the work. This is a on‑site leadership role in Urbana, OH with occasional schedule flexibility for

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive EHS management experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to lead through influence and drive accountability.
• Ability to engage with employees at all levels across the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• Certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or REM are a plus; Lead Auditor certification highly preferred.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental reporting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve EHS programs to reduce risk and enhance safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and maintain documentation.
• Conduct facility assessments, hazard analyses, and root-cause investigations; drive corrective actions.
• Develop, deliver, and track training for employees and leaders on EHS topics.
• Prepare ISO 14001 documentation and environmental reporting.
• Act as site liaison for regulatory audits, inspections, and permits.
• Guide emergency response planning and lead investigations of incidents and near misses.
• Mentor and coach plant leaders to own EHS performance.
