Job summary

University Swaging in Woodinville, WA is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Co-Op (Intern) to assist in implementing health and safety programs. The role is on-site and supports JSA development, SDS accuracy, and safety audits.

The candidate will gain experience in environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, and EH&S training programs, while collaborating with managers to improve safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Safety Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of WAC/OSHA regulations or willingness to learn.
• Ability to train and direct actions on health or safety issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and audits to ensure current JSAs are relevant.
• Ensure SDS are accurate and develop a digital SDS database.
• Audit and maintain safety equipment and emergency readiness.
• Disseminate information to warn employees of hazards and restrict access to hazards.
• Develop and implement EH&S programs and regulatory documentation.
• Administer EH&S training and communication programs (HAZCOM, HAZMAT).
• Extract and manipulate data for environmental reporting and assist in reports.
