Job summary

UEC in Minnesota is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety internship/co-op participant to review and update site safety programs in alignment with corporate standards. You will perform safety walks, assist incident investigations, and help organize Safety Day events to foster a proactive safety culture.

You will collaborate with manufacturing teams, site leadership, and Bracco’s Global HSES team, gaining exposure to data analysis, training materials, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations or environmental compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing and updating site compliance programs such as HazCom, LOTO, PPE, Walking-Working Surfaces, and the Permit to Work process to align with corporate standards and local operations.
• Conduct routine site safety walks and support near-miss/incident investigations using structured problem-solving methods to identify and address root causes.
• Co-facilitate Safety Committee activities, develop site communications, and lead initiatives like the annual Safety Day/Spotlight event to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Help plan, coordinate, and execute site fire drills and emergency response exercises, documenting observations for continuous improvement.
• Support site sustainability goals by analyzing metrics and tracking progress on waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, and resource conservation projects.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams, site leadership, external EHS compliance partners, and Bracco’s Global HSES team to implement practical safety solutions.
