Job summary

Southwire Company offers an EHS Intern opportunity focused on health, safety and environmental program development within our facilities. The role supports regulatory compliance, hazard control, and training development for a summer rotation with potential for ongoing opportunities.

You will work with a team of experienced professionals, receive onboarding and mentorship, and participate in an immersive program designed to build practical skills through real-world projects and leadership

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a college/university pursuing a degree in health, safety and/or environmental field, industrial engineering or similar.
• Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Support health and safety compliance and program management for assigned facility.
• Identify, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace.
• Assist with implementation of EHS programs and training.
• Coordinate with facility management and EHS staff to meet regulatory requirements.
• Support ISO 45001 or VPP related initiatives.
