Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking an EHS professional to join our Whitehall, MI plant. You will collaborate with the EHS team to monitor safety and environmental compliance, conduct audits, lead root-cause analyses, and drive preventive actions.

The role includes employee training and working with site leadership to meet EHS objectives. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in safety/occupational health and at least 3 years in manufacturing environments, with US work authorization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in safety or occupational health, industrial hygiene or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3 years of health and safety and environmental experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate safety-related activities with the EHS Department, monitoring plant conditions and legal compliance.
  • Complete plant audits and program assessments, recommend corrective measures, and report findings.
  • Participate in incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct employee training programs.
  • Monitor site compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and drive improvements.
  • Support fatality prevention efforts with location leaders and deployment of key elements.
  • Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in safety or occupational health
Master's degree (preferred)
Professional certification (CSP or GSP)
Strong communication skills
Proficient PC skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
