Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking an experienced EHS leader to manage environmental, health, and safety programs across our manufacturing operations. You will develop and implement compliant policies, coordinate with corporate EH&S, and lead regulatory initiatives to prevent incidents and fines.

The role requires 7+ years in EHS management, a relevant engineering degree, and strong communication skills to influence site culture, drive improvements, and ensure OSHA and ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; others welcome if verifiable experiences can be quantified.
• 7+ years of experience managing environmental, safety, and health programs in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven record of achievement in improving operational metrics.
• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and re-prioritize as needed.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and strong verbal & written communication skills.
• US work authorization; ITAR status verification required; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and technical support for environmental, safety, and health policies, programs, and practices.
• Develop, recommend, and implement programs to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards.
• Interface with Division and Corporate EH&S contacts regarding initiatives, policies, programs, and practices.
• Manage safety, health, and environmental activities including policy development, documentation, reporting, training, permits, manifests, and third-party interface.
• Foster a proactive safety, health, and environmental climate throughout the facility.
• Oversee wastewater treatment, environmental lab operations, and hazardous materials operations to avoid incidents, violations, and fines.
• Manage OSHA and regulatory compliance; develop strategies to avoid liabilities; interface with agencies.
• Lead loss prevention programs and workers’ compensation coordination with HR; track metrics.
• Oversee introduction of new processes and CapEx from an EHS perspective; ensure compliance.
