Job summary

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for an EHS Engineer at our La Porte, IN location. This role supports site safety programs, environmental compliance, and injury prevention initiatives within a leading aerospace manufacturing environment.

The position offers visibility within the EHS team, opportunities for growth, and close collaboration with site leadership to achieve EHS objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree is required.
At least 1 year of safety experience in a manufacturing or similar setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with location fatality and serious injury prevention efforts, including leading deployment of prevention elements and coaching location leaders.
Analyze injury and incident data and assist line management in implementing focused injury reduction efforts.
Assist with the facility’s industrial hygiene program including IH sampling plans, databases and exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight, radiation protection and health hazard elimination.
Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to identify root causes and provide prevention recommendations.
Assist with environmental compliance activities.
Coach and counsel departmental leaders in executing EHS accountabilities.
Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives.
Lead and assist with other EHS accountabilities.
