Job summary

HopeTree Family Services in Virginia is seeking a Staff Supervisor to oversee Direct Support Professionals in DDM programs (Group Home, Day Services, Community Engagement, etc.). You will coach, mentor, and supervise DSPs while ensuring safe, inclusive environments and person-centered supports.

The role requires at least one year of I/DD experience, supervisory leadership, and a valid driver's license; travel for training and meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with I/DD.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in Human Services or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Willingness to represent the agency in the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day oversight to ensure staffing levels and activities support a positive, organized environment.
• Make independent decisions regarding best practices, quality assurance, and risk management.
• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant regulations and agency policies and ensure compliance.
• Model person-centered, least-restrictive, community-integrated supports.
• Coordinate assessments and services with partners to support individuals’ independence.
• Maintain required documentation including goals, progress notes, and support records.
• Assist in hiring Direct Support Professionals who fit the program’s needs.
