Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in dentistry from an accredited dental school and valid state license.
• License must remain on file at the facility at all times.
• Ability to work effectively with detainees/inmates and facility staff.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain compliance with accreditation policies.
• Perform initial dental screening within seven days for new commitments.
• Evaluate patients and create clinically appropriate treatment plans; send prostheses to labs.
• Perform routine dental procedures per NCCHC standards.
• Educate patients on oral health and preventive care.
• Prescribe medications and monitor ongoing cases.
• Maintain concise health records and utilize EHR systems.
• Collaborate with hospital medical teams and other health professionals.
