Job summary
Envision Automation & Controls is located in Evansville, Indiana, seeking a full-time Controls Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain client control systems on-site at customer plants. You will work with our engineering team and client personnel to ensure customer satisfaction, with travel and on-site work as required.
The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, PLC/HMI troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read schematics.
Qualifications
- Two-year technical/electrical degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Experience with industrial electrical troubleshooting (480V/3-phase, 24VDC control).
- PLC & HMI troubleshooting; programming is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and commission control systems and electrical components.
- Repair and replace control system components, sensors, drives, and devices.
- Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, HMI, and network issues on-site and remotely.
- Make minor PLC and HMI program changes under engineering direction.
- Build and wire panels/enclosures to schematic.
- Assist with FAT on panels and control systems.
- Provide start-up support and field troubleshooting.
- Communicate clearly with client and plant personnel.
- Maintain field service reports and expenses.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
- Identify opportunities for upgrades and additional solutions.
- Provide operator and maintenance training support as needed.
