Job summary

Envision Automation & Controls is located in Evansville, Indiana, seeking a full-time Controls Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain client control systems on-site at customer plants. You will work with our engineering team and client personnel to ensure customer satisfaction, with travel and on-site work as required.

The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, PLC/HMI troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical/electrical degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Experience with industrial electrical troubleshooting (480V/3-phase, 24VDC control).
• PLC & HMI troubleshooting; programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, wire, and commission control systems and electrical components.
• Repair and replace control system components, sensors, drives, and devices.
• Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, HMI, and network issues on-site and remotely.
• Make minor PLC and HMI program changes under engineering direction.
• Build and wire panels/enclosures to schematic.
• Assist with FAT on panels and control systems.
• Provide start-up support and field troubleshooting.
• Communicate clearly with client and plant personnel.
• Maintain field service reports and expenses.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades and additional solutions.
• Provide operator and maintenance training support as needed.

Job Description:

• This position will be on-site at our corporate offices. As well as travel and on-site work at customer plants.
• This is a full-time Controls Technician position.
• You will be provided with company tools and software as needed.
• Additional training will be provided to bring the candidate up to speed.
• Envision Automation & Controls is team-oriented. You will have help available when you need it. You can rely on your team.

Responsibilities:

As a controls technician, you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain control systems for our clients, and provide on-site and off-site support during service calls and start-ups at the client's plant. You will work closely with our engineering team and client personnel to ensure absolute customer satisfaction.

Education & Experience:

• Two-year technical/electrical degree and/or 3+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience (480V/3-phase, 24VDC control circuits).
• PLC & HMI troubleshooting experience; programming experience a plus.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley preferred; Siemens, Omron, and Mitsubishi a plus.
• Basic computer networking knowledge (training available).
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout practices.
• Additional internal training provided by Envision Automation & Controls.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements:

• Able to work in high/low temperature areas.
• Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
• Able to work extended hours when needed.
• Able to be on call to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Willing and able to travel with overnight stays up to 20-30% annually.
