Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks a Superintendent to independently supervise an area of trade contractors on a large commercial/industrial project valued up to $30M. The role requires daily on-site presence, strong leadership, and a focus on safety and schedule adherence.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, OSHA 30-hour certification, and 4–8 years of superintendent experience on similar projects in Connecticut.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• STS-C Certification preferred.
• First Aid/ CPR/ AED/ Stop the Bleed training required.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade partners and subcontractors to meet the project schedule.
• Develops and communicates the field work plan for changes in the field.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate issues.
• Leads contractor meetings and maintains daily reports.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics and safety programs.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced Field Engineers on project needs.
